Bajruzin Hajro Planjac was born on March 19, 1961, in the Bobare region, near Tesanj, in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Planjac writes books for children and young adults. He has published ten novels in multiple editions, including poetry, short stories, fairy tales, stories, fables, and plays. He has also published a dozen picture books. He has received numerous awards for his literary work, including the prize for most-read children’s and young adult book author from the Bosanska Krupa Library in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
His young adult book, Habbes Hütte (Habbe’s Hut), which has been translated into several languages and is available here for the first time in German, translated by Emina Čabaravdić-Kamber and edited by Gino Leineweber, has already reached its tenth edition and was named the best-selling young adult book.
