Emina Čabaravdić-Kamber is a poet, author, painter, and VHS lecturer for exile literature & art and founded the international literature club “La Bohemina” in 1988.
In 1968, she was the only one of eleven children to leave Bosnia. She lives in Hamburg, and her native Kakanj is near Sarajevo.
Emina Čabaravdić -Kamber is a member of the German PEN, the PEN Center of German-speaking Authors Abroad, and a member of the “German Foreign and Abroad Press” in Hamburg. For over three decades, she was on the board of the VS Association of German Writers in Hamburg.
She has multilingual publications (books, anthologies) and received several international awards.
In 1996, Federal President Roman Herzog awarded her the Medal of Merit of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for her literary work on peace and ending the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
