Christopher Okemwa

Christopher Okemwa holds a PhD in performance poetry from Moi University, Kenya. He has authored 13 poetry books, four oral literature text books, eight children’s books, five folktales of the Abagusii people of Kenya, two novels and one play.

He has compiled and edited ten international poetry anthologies. He is the founder and director of Kistrech International Poetry Festival in Kenya.

His poems have been translated to Armenian, Spanish, Catalan, Czech, Mandarin and Hungarian. He has read his poetry at festivals in England, Northern Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Vietnam, Turkey, Taiwan, Colombia, and Dubai.
