Axel Thormählen, born on December 11, 1945, in Nordenham, was a trained bookseller and worked as such in Frankfurt, Hamburg, and Brake/Unterweser before moving to Sweden in 1969 to manage the German department of a university bookstore in Lund.
From 1973, he lived with his family on a former farm in the village of Holmby near Flyinge as a freelance writer.
In 2019, he and his wife returned to Lund, where he died on June 6, 1922.
